Real Estate, Construction and Infrastructure

We advise clients on all real estate and infrastructure-related regulatory issues, such as land use planning, construction, building permit procedures, housing, energy and environmental law.

Our team regularly acts as counsel in non-contentious matters and transactions, such as sale and purchase of commercial buildings (i.e. office buildings, retail buildings, shopping centers, hotels and medical clinics), industrial sites, real estate portfolios, sale and leaseback transactions, negotiation and drafting commercial leases as well as real estate acquisitions by means of share deals.

We provide support to real estate developers, construction companies and families in the structuring of their real estate and construction projects in Switzerland, including the initial structuring the project, the reviewing and drafting of the construction, planning and architect agreements, the negotiating the sale deeds, and if it becomes necessary, the defending our clients in construction lawsuits, or pursuing their claims against third parties.

We also advise on regulatory issues concerning real estate acquisitions by foreign persons. In addition, we advise clients on legal matters concerning secondary residence regulations in Switzerland.

Guillaume has set up a seminar dealing with Infrastructure Projects. The seminar is co-led with Professor Jean-Baptiste Zufferey, Chairman of the Institut of Swiss and international construction law. Participants are divided into two groups: private companies and public institutions such as municipalities and state-owned companies. The aim of the seminar is to provide legal training to the participants and to foster the sharing of best practices in this sector.
